Our second project leads us to Colombia, better said into the mountains somewhere near Cali.

There, 33 girls and 25 boys (aged 6 months to 20 years) live under really evil circumstances in the children's home " fundacion dar esperanza " (what means: “Foundation to give hope “)

We (Lolo and Uwe Bamberger) have been personally there and met with the nun, leading this children's home. She is the only one there and responsible for all these children.

The children, living in this place, are extremely endangered - physically, morally as well as psychologically. Most of them have had problems with drugs, alcohol, they are victims of abusing and/or rapes, witnesses of murder and so on.

The aim of this nun is, to help these deeply hurt children, to become adults, integrated into the society and able to live an orderly life in human dignity.

This home exists only on donations, however mostly this is not even sufficient to provide groceries or warm meals to the children (particularly at the end of the year). Moreover, it´s not enough to give the children a good education (in Colombia, the tuition fees must be paid yearly in June).

In addition the life circumstances are there very precarious (Please just have a look to our pictures pages – these pics tell more than a any description).

Our goal is to enable this children to live a life in really “human-worth ??” life circumstances.

Our and hopefully your support should nourish these poor children, grant good education and help to renovate the building (up to now it´s only a wretched little hut). They need urgently a new roof on their house (the old one is perforated and rain permeates to the inside of the house). Nowadays, especially during the rain season that brings enormous amounts of rain, the rooms are damp – that´s, you can imaging, very unhealthy.

Also the sleep area is to be extended and we want to built showers and lavatory (can you imagine, they do not have even lavatories yet? – Those poor children suffer on a lack of even the simplest things)
